Tunnel system worked out just fine for the NVA.  It's all a matter of how you employ the roles and abilities.

yes, but our "pilot" dragged us through the stream twice, made several wrong turns, and by doing so allowed the nva time to get into position and promptly light us up as soon as we reached the drop point.

It would have happened anyway.  At least the pilot gave you somebody to blame for it.  ;)

Tell me that you guys (not you mike) know that the "tunnels" and the "choppers" are the exact same "free pass to wherever" ability? I mean, come on, it really doesn't matter which "insertion" direction you take when you have a big 6ft tall flag pole preceding 8 or 9 pairs of boots walking with a pre-school rope through the woods!! You kinda loss the "element of surprise" at that point. Just take the easy route. Hence the "free pass", it make up for having the stealth factor of a bulldozer!!

Don't ask me nick, I was sweating my butt off staring at a map and yelling into 4 or 5 radios all day. Mike would know better than I would, he was the XO on the field.

If you were shooting at a bunch of dopes on a rope, then yes... probably.  I spent the majority of the afternoon waiting on Hamburger Hill for an attack that never really came... with the exception of the one sneaky dude that just sort of rambled through our lines (xxbigxx?... I forget the exact spelling of your screen name.)  There were a few helicopters that stopped by, but to no effect.  I recall one instance where Senior was sent over by himself on a chopper... I suspect to scout out the hill.   I imagine his report back to base was something along the lines of, "there's a bunch of hot, irritable, bloodthirsty paintballers on this hill who are pissed off that they haven't seen any firefights for 2 hours... please advise on new course of action."   :)

I felt so bad making you guys sit out there for 2hrs, but you were raking up 100pts a minute, so.....you lost that figurative coin toss, lol
