Thanks everyone for the great feedback we have been recieving.  If this was your first time, or it has been a while since you have been to battlefront.

Please take a minute and post a review of the field at PBReview.  Help spread the word about Battlefront Paintball, and tell your friends what they missed out on!

Also, you can review the field at Top Scenario Paintball Links.

Thanks for making this a memorable one.

    Re: WAW: my response

Just wanted to pop in and say kudos on the great time on Saturday! It was my brother and I's first time to Battlefront and well worth the 3 1/2 hour drive from Lima. It was also my first time in a large scenario game. All in all we had a great time and I was really impressed by the diversity of the field. Funny part is, I initially was really excited about playing in the "village" portion of the field and ended up with less than 20 minutes total in it and the rest of the time sneaking through the woods. Had a couple of complaints about others players lack of motivation and/or honesty in regards to being hit, but those are things beyond the fields control and it happens everywhere.

My only field related complaints would have to be regarding the second half of the game and the distance away of the German flag base. It was a total pain in the ... to get to the respawn point. After making the hike 2 or three times after getting hit trying to take the British flag, some motivation was lost. Due to the distance as well, I think a lot of the Germans took on the village instead and pretty much left the 10 or so of us in the back field making it difficult to get enough people to respawn. Also, I am not sure if the amount of time at each base was proportionate. I was told by one of the spies that the German flag did fall because our guys guarding it lost interest and ended up leaving one person to guard it for the last hour or so. He said he popped the guard and sat there taking the flag up and down. It seems like it would have been more fair to make sure there was closer to equal time at the bases or having a better way of commuicating with the Siberian outpost.

As I said though, I had a great time and look forward to coming back again. Great job guys. Also thanks to the mobile shop that was there. It was great having someone onsite able to help with repairs and not charge $3.00 for an o-ring.

BTW, I noticed that your field isnt on PBReview anymore and says it was taken down?

    Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves!!

We realised in arranging the game that distace to that far outpost would be a problem, the benefit was due to the swamp there was really only one way to attack that base. And it wasn't like you guys were the only ones there lol the Americans had to make that hike the first game. And you could have respawned at the Jap outpost, i'm just sayin.

As for the PB Review thing....i'm not entirely sure what the hell happened there, i went looking the other day because i like to read the reviews and noticed it was just gone, so i don't know whats going on there

    Re: WAW: my response

Agreed that the Americans had to make the hike, but it seemed like they had it for less time. And the Jap base would have been equally as far to walk and would have had to go through the village and all the fighting to do so. Really it wasnt a huge deal just suggesting a way to make it more fair. It's not the fields fault that everyone headed for the village and left us hanging.

One other thing I forgot to ask about was the paint options on the pre-reg. I swear when I pre-registered, I only saw an option for tournament grade paint and thought that was all that was available. When I got there, there were obviously several types to choose from. Did I miss something?

I think we are going to try to head back up towards the end of July wish there was something on the calendar. What sort of turn out do you guys see on open play weekends?

    Re: WAW: my response

As far as PB Review not listing our site before, I'm not sure... but it is there today and the link I posted will get you directly to the fields review page.

You are correct in thinking that you had the hike longer than the americans.  The first half was 2 hours long,  the second half was 2.5 hours. This was due to the delay in starting the game.  We would have like to just start the game as planned, but with four armies on the field we wanted to make sure as many people as possible were there for the briefing, etc.  We tried to delay the second half start a half an hour to balance this as well, but the consensus among the players was to get as much time on the field as possible.

It really depends on open play days, sometimes partys and such will come with large numbers. If the weather is nice its usually 10 on 10 or more.

If you can make it, i suggest July 12th for the 3rd Anniversary. We don't really play a scenario but we play alot of great games including battlefront signature game The Reichstag. Where only the brave dare to fight. Plus theres food and a general good time all around

Really? Seemed like longer on the second half. Guess the death  march in shame back to the regeneration site made it seem longer. ;)

As for the date of coming back up I had a brain fart and actually meant late June. We will already be up around Sandusky for a couple of weeks and are trying to pull away from our commitments for a day of fun on the 28th or 29th.

I'm assuming you're talking about the fire on the hill behind our flag.  I love how the germans threw the smoke grenade and ran away from it....leaving us to deal with the fire :-P

That tank pissed me off. They definatly needed a small spot on the back for us to shoot with a paintball gun. I felt so dumb walking up and hiding behind a bunker. Then when we were told to give cover fire im just thinking. "And how are we supposed to do that?"

I personally liked the tank, but definitely agree that it may have needed some balancing.  Given the fact that most teams didn't have any way of fighting it, you either blew money on the mercs, a launcher or just dealt with it like the US team did.  I thought it was kind of funny (though frustrating) to see 30 or so people come flying out of town followed by the tank rumbling behind.  :)

At some point, the tank was busily racking up kills in town and one of my teammates told me that we could temporarily disable it by pulling the flag.  I was skeptical since I hadn't heard anything about it during the General and XO briefing, though it seemed to make sense that something might have been done to limit the supernatural ability of that thing, so I radioed a buddy who was standing next to a ref.  That ref confirmed that pulling the flag would force the tank to return to HQ before heading out again.  So I gave the go ahead for somebody to run and pull its flag.  This promptly infuriated the tank crew who started yelling that we weren't allowed to do that.  :)  I called Ivan over who told me the other ref had been mistaken and that pulling the flag did nothing.  (Except maybe prove that the guy who pulled it has a pretty big pair.)   I apologized and helped the guy rehang the flag on the tank.  It was an honest mistake.

    He was not impressed.  :)
