    WAW: my response

First of all, I want to say World at War was awesome!!!!  It was my first time at Battlefront today, and you guys made a GREAT impression.  Overall, I had a really good time at the game, and would like to thank Battlefront for a great time.  However, I also have some complaints and suggestions, as well as compliments.

I will start with complaints first (always good to get the bad stuff over with first).  Mainly, my complaints are about the conduct of some of the players.  First of all, although everyone chronoed in to start, I think (I don't really have a ton of proof about this) that a few people chronoed above 290 fps.  I say this only because it seemed to me that a few players shot paintballs at ranges WAY too far for the length of their barrel, especially because I had a barrel roughly the same length of some of these people.  In addition, some of the paintballs hurt way more than they should have*.  But then again, maybe I'm just a wimp.  I also had a report from one of my friends about some players not calling themselves out when they were hit (in this case, the person was hit in the facemask, and my friend could see that he was out) and instead wiping it off.  However, the refs quickly dealt with this player (kudos to them).

Compliments. Now for the positive side.  First of all, I appreciate the oblique apology from battlefront about England's rather sucky power.  The rocket launcher we had was broken, and other teams used the rocket launcher too.  However, I love the way Battlefront mended this problem; by giving us double-oh agents, or in other words, spies.  So, kudos to them!  In addition, the Jap tank was a great addition (even though I was frequently on the recieving end of its mighty firepower).  And I found many of the players at Battlefront to be courteous and helpfull.  My enemies even guided me to the black market once when I was negotiator, even though they knew I was an enemy.  So, great job Battlefront.

Finally, for some suggestions.  Why don't you add some objectives that lead to a teams victory instead of just points?  Basically, while I loved the system by which we gained points, how about putting those points and cash and such to some good use?  I played at another field that did a scenario similar to this, and the ultimate objective in that game was to buy a nuke with which you could eliminate the opposing team.  So, possibly consider that instead of just fighting for points (although the point system was perfectly adequate).

In conclusion, I just wanted to say that I had a great time here.  It was an awesome experiance, and I will definatly return.  (please don't get too mad at me for my complaints orsuggestions.  I don't mean anything insulting towards battlefront by them).

*edited*  What I mean by them hurting more than they should have is this.  I have been shot alot at 290 fps and the balls have broken and not bothered me at all, but I have welts from balls that broke from today.  It just makes me wonder if people were cranking up the FPS.  I AM NOT COMPLAINING THAT THE PAINTBALLS HURT.  This is just one of my reasons for wondering if unscrupulous players cranked up their fps.

Hehe, thank you for your complaints and compliments and i will say just one thing.....

You never had a rocket power.

You had Agents of her majesty's secret service all along. The Rocket power was just a ruse.

    Oh, thanks.  Great ruse man!

Anyway, I loved the spies.  Together, my two friends (both spies) took out about 20 germans and japs in the second game.  Maybe more, but I stopped listening to their smack talk.  Man, those krauts and japs were pissed when they got fragged. . .

    Re: WAW: my response

The rocket launcher wasnt broken ,  the remote to tank adapter wasnt screwed in all the way hahahaha. So i fixed that and went around blasting peoeple with smoke :]

Today was an overal fun day. The funnest part was getting into combat with the tank only being a few feet away trying to shoot at you haha .

    Re: WAW: my response

Another question for you chappy.  Do you get a kick out of including spies in a game?   Because I've noticed on the latest news link that for several games (mainly the hitman and battle of the bulge scenarios) there have been spies.  Anyway, I just want to know if you like watching people get fragged by their "teamates".

Oh yeah, and we did have a bit of a rocket power.  My dad, brother and I brought a mortar that was built in our basement the week before the game.  We didn't really use it as a mortar, but it made a great AT gun.  I don't think the japs who were in the tank knew we had it either. . .

    Re: WAW: my response

Basically i like sneakery and skulldrudgery. Spies just add a wonderful sense of paranoia to a game. Also i believe they help move the game along, it's happened several times where mindway through the scenario at an importart part a team may get bogged down and can't complete an objective that would effectivly end the game, and it's been a spy thats broken the stalemate and helped moved the game forward. Plus it's kind of a Battlefront thing.

Plus your England...how can you not have 00 agents. And in case your wondering, Nobody can claim 007 that honor belongs solely to Ivan who at the blanding game last december out of 1200+ people in attendence managed to get player number 007.

Also i would really like to just thank Everybody who played today, with the exception of a few extremely rare and scattered instances I think everybody played with the utmost respect and Honor. You all did a wonderful job of proving your sportsmanship and what this game is really all about. You should all be proud of yourselves and i really really thank you for coming out and making this scenario a real success, Kudos to you guys and what a wonderful day of paintball. I'm glad it's over lol this is hard work.

Ok, thanks chappy.  I did notice we had 006 on our side though (my friend was him).  Isn't 006 a bad guy in Goldeneye?  Oh well.  It was still fun confusing the enemy, shooting the enemy, and just in general pissing off the enemy.  Thanks for a great secret unknown power!

    Re: WAW: my response

I am way too tired and sore to write a long post so maybe later. But I did want to say what a great game this was. All of us at "1st Strike" really enjoyed getting to be apart of this. And we cant wait to come back up in Sept. for the "Band of Brothers" game. I'll thank and post to everyone later....but i will say this. You germans should REALLY check who your talking to and standing next to......and who you leave in the Ludendorf......

Thank you for the good/bad. I agree there weere sometimes people would play on, but unforunately we were a tad bit short of refs (some people that said they would show didnt), however while I was watching the first half I noticed EVERYONE in my general area were playing very honorable, and very fair. (Most recognition of this was team biohazard, great sportsmanship.)

Unfortunately with that many people it brings out some "aholes".

Thanks to everyone that came, it was a fun day. Ecspecially that last 30 min =D

Did you really?  oops, sorry.  I guess i missed that rather important part of our briefing. . . still, you get a great job as a general though.  Sorry our AT/mortar man went missing when we needed him.  He says he had his radio volume turned down, and he was thirsty, so he stopped for a drink.  Anyway, I loved our short-lived charge on the town, with the battlecry "Die you bloody wankers!".  I just wish you had let me pull the union jack out of our own station and lead the charge :(  Oh well, it was a great time anyway
