    Re: Japanese Recruitment

I've always wondered, why do kamikazes wear helmets? Seems to kind of defeat the purpose...and it is a waste perfectly good metal.

    Re: Japanese Recruitment

    because they where a soldier..

And there wasnt very many Kamikaze ground soldiers at all. Kamikazes where mainly a air based tactic.

Bonzais where last stand charges when no other alternative could be used to win the battle.

    Re: Japanese Recruitment

i was watching some movie "letters from iwo jima" i believe it was. they called for a banzai and they were in a little cave thing. they all started screaming banzai and one by one they would pull the pin out of a grenade, and then just hold it to their chest. i thought it was a charge but it was just sitting there killing themselves. kinda weird i thought.

    how come dinosaurs dont talk?

    because theyre dead

    Re: Japanese Recruitment

Banzai means " Ten Thousand Years of Life"

Banzai is a Japanese cheer that can be translates as "Long life" or "Hurrah" It is usually repeated three times to express enthusiasm, celebrate a victory, applause and favor on happy occasion while raising both arms. It is commonly done together with the large group of people.

Foreign people seem to confuse "Banzai" with a war cry because japanese soldiers shouted "Tennouheika Banzai" when they were dying during World War II. In this, what they meant was "Long live the Emperor" or "Salute the Emperor".

Thats all for todays history lesson :]

    Re: Japanese Recruitment

    Wow...

The Russian knows more about the Japanese army than its own commander. That certainly says something about military intelligence.
