The first major engagement between American forces and regular NVA troops in Vietnam. This should be one classic Battlefront scenario. We have started work on some new trench systems for Band of Brothers and we should have many of them ready for this event. The Lost Platoon will find itself occupying the area around the Jap HQ on Crab Creek with the NVA surrounding them and NVA will have control of the high ground across the creek we call Heartbreak Ridge. American respawn will be by airlift only, but the advantage is they will be able to drop into the middle of the fighting...wherever they are needed. VC sappers will have the advantage of being EXTREMELY small targets....head shots only. More to follow...
The book and movie "We Were Soldiers" was written to commemorate this savage battle between 400 US Army troops and over 2000 NVA regulars. Americans WILL be outnumbered during this battle.
I expect a few "Kamikaze" and "Iron Cross" patches to be won....on both sides
As many elements of this battle as possible will be included. The lost platoon that was surrounded by VC the entire battle. Attempts by US troops to break the encirclement. American reinforcements will be airlifted into the battle. VC will use tunnels to pop up where least expected. American artillery and air strikes will be called in WITHIN 50 FEET OF AMERICAN TROOPS TO STOP NVA ASSAULTS. Improper co-ordinates can cause friendly fire casualties... and did.
